Whisk is a Penn Appétit cookbook for social occasions.
Penn Appétit is the University of Pennsylvania's innovative, student-run magazine covering all things food. We have recipes. We have layout skills, photo talent, and culinary expertise. We have an established and growing presence, both on campus and in the Philadelphia community, after 10 years.
So how do we grow? As we produce our 21st edition of the magazine, Penn Appétit is moving into the “adult world” of food organizations. Our most logical next step is to create a cookbook: Whisk.
To highlight the passion for food and culinary skills of our community, we recruited 12 top student-cooks to become part of our Culinary Team. We turned our homes into test kitchens and created a food photography studio. We are establishing a cookbook brand that is pushing creative boundaries and allowing room for personal recipe development.
Whisk is a cookbook that highlights our favorite social occasions, from brunch to dinner parties to indulgent “post-festivity” eats. Food is a social tool that brings people together, and Whisk is connecting the Penn community, both students and alumni, over favorite recipes created by Penn’s most talented cooks.
